With the launch of web application platforms such as Adobe Air and Microsoft's Silverlight - the possibilities for 2.0 desktop applications are starting to emerge. Finetune Desktop is a great example of this. Its a website with a desktop application companion that allows its users to create, share and generate custom music playlists based on the users favorite artists and playlist selections. It has an extensive music database under the hood complete with 30 second sample clips of everything. Its like Pandora done properly and with style (sorry Pandora, you snooze you lose...).
